La compagnie libyenne de télécommunications, LAP Green Network, a annoncé l’inauguration prochaine de nouveaux services de télécommunications en Sierra Leone et au Togo, ainsi que des services sans fil au Sud Soudan.
Selon un communiqué de la société, celle-ci envisage de poursuivre son expansion dans le secteur des télécommunications avec des projets au Burundi, en République démocratique du Congo, en Ethiopie, en Tanzanie et en Guinée équatoriale.
L’objectif du groupe libyen est de « positionner la compagnie aux côtés des géants régionaux que sont MTN, Vodacom et France Télécom-Orange, qui ont tous une forte présence en Afrique ». Le communiqué indique que LAP Green Network « va activement rechercher des opportunités de croissance stratégiquement intéressantes dans le continent ».
A l’époque du règne du guide libyen Kadhafi, LAP Green Network avait négocié avec certains pays, mais rencontrait beaucoup de réticences dans la conclusion d’accords, du fait de sa proximité avec le numéro un libyen.
